Marinetek’s world-famous K-series breakwater has an exceptional ability to attenuate, and compared to similar competing products, it has the best ratio of mass and ability to ‘absorb’ waves. A specially designed reinforced concrete structure gives this pontoon element exceptional strength. Correctly calculated mass distribution, which with the mass of water ‘trapped’ between the concrete keels, gives the most favourable ratio of invested and received.
Marinetek is the only manufacturer of floating breakwater elements that gives an attenuation curve in its specifications. Marinetek BRK breakwater pontoon is designed to properly ‘work’ at waves that are up to 26 m long and with a significant height up to 1.3 m, with an attenuation percentage of 50 – 80%.
