- Completion of the second part of the renovation of the port Bunarina
The reconstruction of part of one more municipal port on the Croatian Adriatic coast has been successfully completed. The Port Authority of Pula that had took over the management of the nautical part of the former sports port Bunarina, after years of its stagnation and decay, successfully renovated another pier of the port, thus providing safe access and mooring for 130 local vessels, 6 to 18 meters long.
As part of this project Marinetek dismantled and removed old and dilapidated piers on steel piles and installed 23 reinforced concrete floating pontoon elements type 2400AC in their place, with all the necessary mooring equipment. Pontoon elements are anchored with chain mooring lines. Due to the shallow sea in some places and problematic sea bottom but also in order to get better environmental results, the high-capacity concrete injected anchors were used instead of concrete anchor blocks.
Also, standard Mediterranean mooring system has been installed for all vessels. The pontoon piers were equipped with enough service pedestals, i.e. a new electricity and water supply network has been installed. During the installations, Marinetek accepted and made additional improvements, according to investor requirements.
The Port Authority Pula financed the reconstruction of the pier mostly with its own funds and with this project continued the reconstruction of Bunarina that had began in 2019 with the reconstruction of pier A. Intention is to further reconstruct other remaining piers and improve the safety and quality of berths in port Bunarina.
