- New contract for the construction of port Brna on the island of Korčula
A contract for the execution of works on the development of the communal port in Brna was signed in the premises of the Municipality of Smokvica. The contract was signed by Antun Banovac, Director of the Port Authority of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and Zoran Cvitan, representative of the company Marinetek Adriatic.
The ceremonial signing was also attended by Deputy County Prefect Joško Cebalo, Mayor of Smokvica Ljubo Kunjašić, and members of the Smokvica Municipal Council.
The project is valued at 536 thousand euros, and its implementation will provide 80 communal berths for the local population. As part of the investment, the coastline will be improved and pontoon breakwaters will be installed. Marinetek Adriatic will deliver a total of four pontoon breakwaters (types M4320BRK and M4316BRK), complete with all associated equipment. The expected duration of the works is 90 days from the handover of the site to the contractor.
“In the recent period, Dubrovnik-Neretva County has completed 800 communal berths across its territory, and currently our county port authorities are preparing project-technical documentation for more than 1,200 new berths,” said Deputy County Prefect Joško Cebalo.
