- Construction of a New Dock on the River Drava
Marinetek Adriatic is building a new 120-meter-long river dock that will accommodate up to 42 vessels — 35 mooring spots for category II boats and seven berths for category IV vessels. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
As part of the project Interpretation Center “Bolen’s Drava Trail”, an official handover to the contractor for the construction of a river dock on the Drava River took place on April 16th in the premises of the Municipality of Gola. The event was attended by County Prefect Darko Koren, Deputy Prefect Ratimir Ljubić with their associates, as well as representatives of project partners and contractors.
The Mayor of Gola, Stjepan Milinković, expressed his gratitude to the Koprivnica-Križevci County and the regional development agency PORA for their support in the implementation of this important project. He emphasized that this is a historic moment for the municipality, as the Interpretation Center “Bolen’s Drava Trail” will offer visitors an authentic experience of the natural beauty of the Drava River, surrounding forests, the Ješkovo area, and the region’s rich flora and fauna.
Prefect Koren underlined the significance of the project in developing tourism infrastructure in the Prekodravlje region and stated that, along with the revitalization of Inkey Castle in Rasinja, it will serve as a cornerstone for further development of continental tourism in the county. “The Drava River has always been a source of inspiration and a symbol of natural value, and this project will further enhance its tourism potential,” said Koren.
Speaking on behalf of the Public Institution Port Authority of Osijek, which is responsible for the construction of the dock, Anita Čuljak announced that the new river dock, 120 meters long, will accommodate up to 42 vessels — 35 mooring spots for category II boats and seven moorings for category IV vessels. The works are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
It is important to highlight that the pontoons for the dock will be produced by Marinetek Adriatic, participating in the project as a subcontractor to the main contractor, Vodogradnja Varaždin. The collaboration between these two companies ensures a high level of quality and safety in the construction of the docking infrastructure.
The total value of the project amounts to €3.5 million, of which €2.9 million has been secured through non-refundable funding. The Municipality of Gola is the project lead, with Koprivnica-Križevci County and the Port Authority of Osijek as partners. Professional support in preparation and implementation is provided by PORA – Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica-Križevci County.
After the formal event, which was also attended by county department heads, representatives of the Port Authority, contractors, and supervisors, the attendees visited the future construction site of the river dock.
