- Marinetek was proudly represented at the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference
Enchanting Venice was the perfect stage for the conclusion of another remarkable gathering of marina industry professionals – the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference, a prestigious international event held every two years in a different global destination.
This year’s Venetian edition unveiled exciting new projects across the Mediterranean, announcing significant marina renovations and investments, with innovation and environmental protection at the heart of every development plan. Numerous panels focused on preserving marine waters, protecting delicate flora and fauna, and exchanging best practices for sustainable development.
Presentations by leading global companies specializing in pontoon and floating solutions drew great attention, with Marinetek standing out prominently. Santeri Suoranta, CEO of Marinetek Group, spoke about our environmental initiatives and commitment to responsible business practices. He also highlighted our long-term partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation, of which Marinetek is a proud supporter for several years.
In our production processes, special emphasis is placed on reducing CO₂ emissions, while the anchoring of pontoons and other floating structures is carried out with the utmost respect for the fragile marine ecosystem, coastline, and seabed.
It was a true privilege to be part of a community of professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists, and institutional representatives who shared their visions for the future of marinas. Alongside expert sessions and panels, participants enjoyed guided tours of marinas around Venice, gaining insights into the latest trends in design and services for boaters. Discussions also explored current employment challenges within marinas and the growing role of artificial intelligence and digital applications in the industry’s future.
Of course, no conference would be complete without a touch of celebration — the highlight of the event was the elegant gala dinner, where it was officially announced that the next ICOMIA World Marinas Conference will be held in Shanghai.
