- New Marina Facility on the Drava River
The construction of a new river mooring facility in the village of Gola, near the city of Koprivnica in Northern Croatia, has been successfully completed, marking an important step forward in the development of infrastructure, tourism, and economic potential in this part of Croatia. The project represents a significant boost to inland tourism in the Prekodravlje region while opening new opportunities for recreation, boating activities, and local entrepreneurship.
The facility was built as part of the “Bolen’s Drava Route” Interpretation Centre project, with a total value of €3.5 million, of which €2.9 million was secured through non-refundable funding. The project was led by the Municipality of Gola and also included the renovation and equipping of the parish house building in Gola, which will serve as an interpretation centre dedicated to natural heritage, further enhancing the educational and tourism value of the investment.
Project partners included Koprivnica-Križevci County and the Port Authority Osijek, while professional support was provided by the development agency PORA. Construction works were led by Vodogradnja Varaždin, with Marinetek Adriatic playing a key role in delivering the floating infrastructure.
Marinetek Adriatic designed, manufactured, and installed the complete marina facility together with all associated equipment. A floating dock with a total length of 129 metres was installed, consisting of 11 pontoons of the M2412AC and M2409AC types, along with 19 fingers measuring 6 and 8 metres in length. Access to the pontoon is provided by a gangway measuring 12 metres in length and 1.2 metres in width. The completed infrastructure ensures safe mooring for around 40 boats and provides long-term functionality and operational safety.
The new facility represents a significant infrastructure milestone for the local community. In addition to supporting the development of river tourism, the project enhances the region’s attractiveness, strengthens the local economy, and improves the connection with the natural resources of the Drava River. Investments of this kind lay the foundation for sustainable development, encourage visitor arrivals, and improve residents’ quality of life. They also demonstrate how cooperation between the public and private sectors can deliver lasting positive impacts on the development of less-developed inland regions.
