Boduli Rijeka – Superyacht pier

At the beginning of summer 2014 Marinetek NCP performed an installation od anchoring blocks and soon after installation of floating pier in Rijeka port. This is the project of Port Authority Rijeka and 4,3 M kn worth investment, whose main goal is to increase the capacity of the mooring. Works on construction and installation of piers are successfully done by Marinetek NCP and BSK Commerce from Rijeka, whose joint offer was selected in public proceedings issued by Port Authority.

The 80 m long floating pier is made of four breakwater pontoons type M3820BRS, each of which is nearly twenty meters long and three and a half meters wide, and should increase capacity of the mooring in the harbour for about 50%.
Pier is bounded for massive coastal construction with cross chain link with inserted inox/rubber spring inserted in order to prevent larger movement of the piers. Pontoons are equipped with access bridges, cleats and service cabinets with double water and electricity plugs. On client`s request all pontoons have rubber fenders.

Anchoring system consists of crossed-anchored lines made with Seaflex system, anchored to massive blocks of 99 tons, which will enable safe mooring of large vessels even during poor weather condition.

The basic purpose of new built pier and mooring system is the acceptance of popular tourist sailing boats during summer months. Namely, these sailing boats usually bind to coats Boduli in Rijeka port and the problem was that the coast wasn`t long enough so sailboats had to bind to each other. For the rest of the year, these berths are intended for mega yachts. Anchoring system provides safe berths during winter months, for 9 yachts up to 35 m long and 5 yachts up to 5 m long, as well as for vessels of Police Deparment, Port Authority and Harbour Master.

Batala port, Dubrovnik

The project of construction of the Batala communal port is very important for the city of Dubrovnik and it was necessary to develop a series of studies. The idea of building the Batala communal harbor started long ago in 2012, with the adoption of the urban planning when they started the conceptual solutions. After that, all the required permits and studies of the impact on the environment were completed, and finally they started with the whole project. Today, Batala is one of the most modern harbors in Croatia and is primarily intended for the local population.

The main idea was that Batala is organized on the principle of ports in historic centres. Dubrovnik is the city of world famous cultural heritage and beauty, one of the most attractive and famous cities in the Mediterranean . In the maritime world, it is well known that Dubrovnik is one of the first ports who began to cultivate the nautical tourism. This city is significant destination that goes through progressive growth and development phase, both of larger marinas and small harbours.

The total investment “weighed” was 12 million kuna, County Port Authority Dubrovnik loaned ten million kuna from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development while 2 million kuna was cut off from its own funds.
Marinetek NCP as a contractor was responsible for the construction and supply of a total of 6 floating piers of a total length of 600 meters, with approximately 500 berths for boats owned by local people who have signed a contract with the County Port Authority. This valued project is among the few in Croatia that solves the problem of the constant demand of the local population for communal berths.

Works on the construction of the Batala harbor took place in two phases. In the first phase of the work, Marinetek built and delivered pontoons for 95.5 meters long pier B, designed for the first 60 boats. It contains 7 pieces of floating reinforced concrete elements of 12 and 15 meters in length.

The second phase involved the construction and installation of four pontoon piers (A, C, D and E) and a one breakwater pier with its inner berths. The value of works in this final phase was 10.7 million kuna.

The production of floating pontoons and its equipment lasted for 3 months and to Dubrovnik were carried by sea in five separate tugs, each tug with a length of 75 to 110 m.
Works on the pontoon installation were entrusted to firm Marine Sub d.o.o. from Sibenik

Anchoring system of piers was conducted using a reinforced concrete anchor blocks and elastic ropes Seaflex from Swedish company, which makes the floating docks extremely calm and stable with minimal horizontal shifts. This system represents the most modern and fully comfortable anchoring system with respect to the highest safety standards.
Since the project of anchoring piers and vessels was made on the basis of a future reconstructed coastal promenades along the coast of Gruž, we had to carry out a “temporary” solution so all the piers could have safe and unhindered access. So, till the reconstruction of the coast, we derived steel galvanized bridges at the point based on AB blocks at the seabed. This specific access to the piers caused enthusiasm both by the local people and by the Dubrovnik tourists who use the access ports as a “good location for photographing“.

The Rijeka Boat Show

ACI marina Cres

For ACI dd, which is certainly the most important company for nautical tourism in Croatia, Marinetek NCP in the period from 2008 till 2014 carried out additional construction and reconstruction of part or whole marinas in Rovinj, Pula, Pomer, Supetarska Draga, Skradin, Vrboska and Piškera. After almost two years of preparation and development of project documentation, at September 2014 finally began the reconstruction of one of the most important ACI marina in northern Adriatic, ACI marina Cres.

Reconstruction project included dismantling of seven existing piers which were in very bad condition, together with related anchoring systems, access bridges, service pedestals, water supply and hydrant installations, and of course their replacement with completely new pontoons and equipment. The project also includes reconstruction of fix breakwater and installation of new ninth pier. Contractors had to comply with one special request of investor and that is the successive replacement of one by one pier so that marina could provide uninterrupted service for whole time to all vessels situated in marina.

New model All Concrete pontoons, first installation in Croatia. Covering the pontoon surface with exotic wood

For the formation of eight floating piers Marinetek built and delivered 62 All Concrete pontoon elements with length of 15 and width of 3 meters. Investor’s request was not only the replacement of pontoons but also the significant improvement of quality offereed for their clients so that all piers are covered with exotic hardwood decking. We installed stainless steel cleats with the capacity of 25-100kN, service bollards made by domestic producer Marex Elektrostroj likewise made of stainless steel and with the possibility of installing a separate module for measuring and billing of the consumption of electricity and water. Installation of hydrant network, electrical and water supply we’re performed by Elektrolux company from Šibenik. Demanding job of replacing anchoring system was done by company Hidroinžinjering from Rijeka and because of the low depth in large part of marina they had to dug in to the seabed almost 190 new anchor blocks….
Besides the floating piers we also renovated the external fixed pier that has additional cleats of 10t capacity, so that in addition to the associated sockets of power supply, marina has 5 additional berths for yachts up to 50 m in length on the outside of the pier.

For anchoring blocks, it was agreed a standard anchoring system of piers with chains and for anchoring of vessels standard quarter mooring. Since the marina, though nearly thirty years old, had a lot of broad piers the basic layout wasn`t changed that much. After reconstruction it is retained the width of the pool from 50 to 70 meters so that in addition of ninth pier marina has capacity of 470 new and modernly equipped piers.
